What does Repsense measure?

Repsense reads surface EMG — the electrical activity of a working muscle — and returns activation as a normalised Muscle Score, plus left/right symmetry, rep consistency and fatigue across a set.

Is the 87 a percentage of my muscle?

No. Surface EMG cannot tell you what percent of a muscle fired. The Muscle Score is a normalised 0–100 figure calibrated to your own maximum, so it is comparable to your own history rather than an absolute measurement.

How accurate and repeatable is it?

Placement matters. Repsense uses guided placement, body diagrams, standardised electrode spacing, a signal-quality check and placement history to keep readings repeatable session to session. It is built for relative comparison — this exercise against that one, this week against last — not clinical measurement.

Where do the sensors go?

The app shows exactly where each electrode goes for the muscle you select and confirms a good signal before you start. Two sensors compare left and right; add more to run multiple muscles at once.

Does sweat or heavy movement affect the reading?

Sweat, skin movement and load can all affect a raw EMG signal. Repsense filters the signal and separates muscle activity from movement noise, and flags low adhesion or a lost channel so you can re-seat the electrode.

What phones does it work with?

The Repsense app runs on iPhone and Android and connects over Bluetooth LE. No special clothing and no wires.

What does it cost?

The Repsense Kit is A$189 on pre-order and includes two wireless sensors, a charging case, 30 electrode pads and the free app. Repsense Pro is A$12/month for deeper analytics; Repsense Coach is A$49/month for managing athletes.

Is Repsense a medical device?

No. Repsense is a training-analytics tool for performance. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, prevent or rehabilitate any medical condition.
